As a dental hygiene student, I was constantly asking myself "when do I become a Dental Hygienist?" My question was answered today during my pinning ceremony. My name got called in the loud speaker and I nervously walk out of my chair and met my mother. The moment we met, I held her hand and walked up the stairs to the stage. The statement I worked on so hard didn't make it to my ears, because I was too busy trying not to mess up in front of the 39 other students, their families, my professors, and staff. When my mother actually goes and pins me, I thought to myself, this is it. This is all my hard work put out in front of me. I am a professional now. I take pride in suggesting all the corny stuff for this ceremony. I am blessed to have friends who helped me turn my ideas into reality. The ceremony went great and I am proud to say I am a Dental Hygienist.
Here are a few more pictures of the ceremony:

we took turns lighting each others candles.
