Jamming

mix tapes > ipods

Ever since Punta Cana,
my mom has misplaced my ipod.
I believe someone out there is jamming to my music.

Funny Story:
my cousin and I have very distinct taste in music.
She's so pop punkish and I'm more r&b hiphopish
Cousin gets back her old school jams...
I put on a new old cd jam to listen to and my ears
can't help but to fall in love again.
it took me to some old memories
memories with innocent lips and no reputation
I couldn't help but ask if I can keep the cd
she said NO but she will let me borrow it
to my surprise, when she ejected it
it was mine all along.
Ha!

Starting

A couple of posts back I had mentioned how I was looking for a job.
Dropping off resumes everywhere.
Luckily for me, I shadowed at an office where they know me.
Besides knowing me,
the hygienist that I shadowed during my student life was pregnant.
I remembered her telling me she was due sometime in August.
Having those fantasies locked in my mind...
I didn't allow them to make me overly confident about this job.
The moment I got my license,
I got a couple of hygiene gigs at the office where I work at on the weekends.
The reason why today is the most important day of my career
is because I started today as a hygienist and ended the day as a hygienist.
I did tooth cleanings on eight patients.
Today, I was the professional
and there was no one there to correct me or tell me I did a great job.
Today, it was just me and my instruments.
Instruments that when they decided not to work around the afternoon,
I had to figure out a way to make ends meet without them.
Today, I was the only voice the patients heard.
The only recommendations they heard about a certain product came from me.
If they bought it, it was simply because I educated them enough to understand they need it.
Today, I came home after a long working day tired.
Tired but proud.
Proud of my professionalism.
I cannot wait for tomorrow to do it all over again.
Today, I realized the career I chose is the one I absolutely love.

Skydiving

Today my brave cousins decided to scratch out an item on their bucket list.
As for me, I was the photographer of this wild event for them.
While she was busy signing away her life,
I decided to take a shot.
Because of Miami's unpredictable weather,
there was a delay and so I decided to have a mini shoot with little Miss Kayla.
She loves the camera and the camera loves her.
She will be a top model.
I gurantee that.

<3
Of course all the other girls wanted to follow her footsteps.
Finally the moment they were anticipating this whole Sunday.
With surprise guest in the same training room.
The world is a small place.
lol
Her strap-on partner.
if I ever jump, I would love to be strapped on to him
;)
Trying to spot them from up in the clouds...
but they look like tiny polk-a-dots
As they were getting closer to landing.

Their victory walk
;)
She wanted to jump too.

I'm proud of my cousins for finally doing what they've been dreaming to do.
I love you guys

Reuniting ii

I love reunions.
Because  Shawna gave birth to Gianna at only six months...
Today she threw a "Surprise, she popped out early shower."
Gianna is doing just fine.
She is still in the hospital until her original due date which was in September.
As for more preggo news...
Angela's little one is the size of an olive.
and Lellanis' is probably about the same size too.
Yanelys is about to pop anytime now
and a few days ago,
I got a text from Requel saying I'm invited to her babyshower.
Everyone is getting preggo and honestly it's scary.
Luckily for me, I'm single and celibate.
I guess I have to start saving up for some babyshower presents.
Who would have thought of giving a piggy bank as a shower present?
I was sooo sure my present was original...
BUT I thought wrong.
I honestly think she liked mine better
<3

And if that wasn't enough reuniting for the day...
How's this for an epic reunion?
I went to a party and honestly felt like a highschool reunion.
It was cool and a bit awkward
because everyone that was there knows me as the crazy EX!
ouch.
I honestly liked him better when he looked like Jack Osbourne
and was nice.
People can change the way they look
the way they dress
the way they speak
but honestly you will be you no matter what
so accept how you were made and embody yourself fully therein.
Ever since I started reading Eat Pray Love
my minds been racing on different ideas and plans with my life.
Elizabeth Gilbert has inspired me to do things I never thought of doing.

Petty irritations that once maddedned you are no longer problems, whereas abysmal old miseries you once endured out of habit will no longer be tolerated now for even five minutes. Poisonous relationships get aired out or disposed of, and brighter, more beneficial people start arriving into your world.

The three people in this photo can define a nightmare during my highschool life.
Never in a million years did I ever think I would reunite with them at a party and take a photograph.
But it happened.
Alcohol related?
maybe.
But after the hangover, the photo is still there.
and I can't help but to be proud of overcoming the petty irritations
and smiling for a picture.

Touring

Summer is almost over!
Next week school starts for the majority of the students
and there goes the end of summer break.
I remember a few summers ago, Boob-e and I
stated how that was the best summer ever.
It was filled with beach days, boys, and fun.
Although what we said might have been true,
other summers have past by and honestly...
they just keep getting better.
A decade ago, this girl was introduced to us as a relative from Germany.
I don't really remember if I hung out with her when she came to visit.
I just remember her talking weird and not being able to understand her.
Her father lost communication with her and because of technology
and social networking,
we were able to find her through facebook.
(facebook is not always bad)
Now, exactly 10 years later, she came to visit and I will never forget.
Really glad to call her family.
Her visit with us was short but with a promise there will be a next visit soon.
She quitely asked me from across the table if she can eat her burger with her hands.
I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture.
(she will probably hate this one)
After some dinner we took her out for some drinks.
Hungover from the night before she said she needed to relax and have some tea.
Luckily for her I know of the perfect spot.
And I did learn some german
:)
eine menge tee und dabei wird auch noch deutsch gesprochen
For our shopping date
our biggest mission was to find a currency exchange place.
Not many people exchange Euros
luckily she was able to exchange it and get an
eighty American dollar profit.
$$
I taught her a little bachata with a twist of german style.
All she does over there is dance to her boyfriend's house beats.
The group on her last night here in this sunny/rainy city.
This was our last pic before she departed from us.
Next stop:Ultra
I'm not really into house but I'll go just for her
:)
Can't wait for March!

Recapping : ii

During my second month at being a twenty-two year old I did some postings.
Therefore, doing this second recapping post took some extra time because I had to look for the pics I haven't already posted previously. It always catches me by surprise at how much I've done in one month.
I sometimes catch myself saying I'm bored and I need to get involved with new things.
But then I take a look at my photographs and realize I'm being a little inconsiderate with myself.
This month I've been busy remolding my room.
Because of playing so much spades and poker with the neighbors,
I got inspired by my now former nighbor to change my entire room.
It satrted out simple...
throwing away so much junk I haven't worn since forever
and shirts that are not really mine.
I did however, put memory shirts in a seperate place outside of my closet..
I didn't have the heart to just give them to a stranger for their use.
Maybe someday they come back in style like the G-shock I threw away a while back.
:(
Spades and Poker nights kept accumulating
and every night, Mercy (my neighbor) will keep adding new ideas to my head.
This month was the last time I saw my room like above.
I reminisced on some good old memories while looking through the wall of photos before I took it down.
When I finally emptied out all my walls, my room already started looking different.
Plain, but different.
Then OFF to the ceiling I went to destroy the popcorn on my roof.
Great way to relieve stress but I'm warning, you will be sore for some days.
My fingers were tired from all the soaking I had to do on the roof...
and let's not forget the giant mess my mom helped me clean off my floor as the popcorn came down from atop.
Painting was next.
I did the ceilings and 3 walls.
Something kept me from continuing the last wall with the other color I purchased.
But at the end, my mother helped me and after I got home from a busy day, I realized she took the liberty to paint the last wall the different gray/purple-lish color I now have.

The ending product you guys will not see... yet
My room is still under construction
and honestly it will still be like this for a while.
At least until I can save up to buy all the decorations needed.
:)
Aside from chaging up my room,
I took my monsters to the park and had blast.
Mia and a few cat documentries from the animal planet
lead me to consider being a cat lady when I'm older.
I realized going to roundup on a Friday night is now insane.
It's too busy to line dance
and filled with men in tiny underpants and a giant robe accompanied by nerdy glasses.
next time we go, we might try it on saturdays.
Because of roundup being lame,
we discovered that the billard place next door is amazing.
They have a ton of pool tables with some PBRs
:)
I did a lot of reuniting with my hygiene peeps.
It was Lellanis bday so we did hung out as mentioned in a previous post...
But I was also able to have some sushi with ms. Lauren
a.k.a my traveling dental hygiene colleague
;)
She decided to take me to have some drinks and meet up with tumblr peeps
it was too cool and can't wait to do it again.

I also scratch something out of my bucket list
(well it wasn't technically ever thought about until it occured)
*I caused an asthma attack*
hee hee
something for the books.

To another month of my fun experience aging
:)

Lobster Festing

I think I've become a vacation junkie.
This summer its been all about
packing
road trips
water parks
theme parks
beaches
margaritas
games
cruises
and I could go on.
GOSH!
and did I mention I only work once a week?
Who wouldn't want my life right now?
seriously!
lol
okay so enough cockiness.
(i hate that)
I just want to thank God for making this all possible.
Thank You!
0:)
Karma has been very nice to me!
anywho,
this weekend I went to Key West for a Leo celebration.
as mentioned in the previous post,
it also was Lobster Fest.
I feel bad for all you folks who happen to be allergic to this shell fish.
Imagine the entire street of Duval closed down and filled with tents grilling these delicious tails.
Are you getting where I'm going to?
Mhmmm.
Besides lobsters, there were a lot of interesting venders.
I met this really nice photographer who takes photos with this baby.
It takes awesome photography but he did mention how much work he has to put in.
I fell in love with one of his pieces,
but I am not making enough money for that type of luxury.
I also came across a lady who creates this cool art work.
Its beer bottles and she melts them to create a flat substance.
You can use it as a plate / decor
again too broke to purchase!
lol
You can actually use this one dollar bill
BUT why on earth would I give anyone a Betty Boop dollar bill.
It would stay in my wallet and I'd consider it lucky
;)
Did I mention I have a thing for Pirates?
I witnessed a pirate invasion in the intersection of US-1 and an unknown avenue.
waterguns, swords, and the whole shebang
I scream
You scream
We all scream
For icecream
As broke as I can be,
I couldn't stop myself from getting this
booze in the blender.
The cruise chicks upgraded to the Keys chicks
and we eliminited one and gained TWO
it's always a pleasure working with Mo.
we made some pizzets that were delicious!
of course Jorge wanted to tag along and create a mess instead of help out.
Can you guess what this is called?
I'm still obsessed even after the Fad faded.
King Bed
Two story apartment
We do it big
:)
Changoooooo!
I love random guest appearances
;)
The last I saw of her,
we were looking for shooting stars
but got stuck with mosquitto bites.
These girls are amazing.
no matter the downs,
the ups always make up for it.
This photo is dedicated to my roots.
I always listen to the stories of the ones who risk their everything just for freedom.
We even have jokes for these people.
But staring at this view and seeing nothing but water and
waves crashing by the dozen;
I can't imagine making a 90 mile trip at sea
with nothing that can define safety.
The many souls the ocean has kept.
All for freedom they have been restrained from.
One will never know what they have, until it becomes lost.
I'm very fortunate for my family to have left the communist country they once called home.
I'm proud to be an American
with my Cuban roots to spare.
One day, I will visit the streets where my mother once played.
For now, I can only visit the streets my father destroyed.
Puerto Rico in one month
:)
Did I mention I'm a vacation junkie?
