Rephrasing

In basesball, I learned that people go crazy when a player hits his 600 career home run.
Only 6 people have gotten lucky enough to accomplish this task:

1. Sammy Sosa

2. King Griffey Jr.

3. Barry bonds

4. Babe Ruth

5. Hank Aaron

6. Willy Maze

The Yankees have a player who's stuck on 599. His name is Alex Rodriguez but he's famously known as A-Rod. I remember saying in a previous post  how baseball is a very boring sport to watch; however, because of A-Rod and the rest of the Yankee players, I am able to rephrase my previous statement. Watching him go up to bat was nerve wrecking. Even the fans of the Rays stopped ringing their annoying cowbells. (I still don't get the point of having cowbells when the mascot is a sting ray). As soon as A-Rod would go up to bat, flashes would light up the entire dome stadium. It was incredible!

I'm quite bummed about not being able to witness his 600 home run hit! But very proud to say the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays. This Yankee fan has no voice and tomorrow more screaming! I'm going to Busch Gardens :)

Hellllls yeaaaah!

Estactic to witness A-Rod hit 600

Nervous... (I truly was)
Superstitious? some hardcore baseball fanatics believe the wearing the hat backwards brings a late-inning rally.
I tried everything so that A-Rod can bat again.

I even got her to DO it.

All this talk about A-Rod and forgetting the ultimate reason why I truly LOVE the Yankess:

Preparing

I finally decided to be productive and work on my resume.
Let me tell you that building up resumes is no joke. I tend to be very descriptive about job descriptions. Honestly, my potential bosses are not going to sit there and read half the things I write.
My friend actually told me if I were to write a book people won't read it.
:/
HARSH I KNOW!
but honestly, why do I feel the need to write the exact duties of my previous jobs?
Don't they know what a dental assistant does?
Anywho, Thanks to some buddies of mine I was able to make a perfect resume and cover letter.
I printed them and they are ready to be read by anyone who is willing to hire me as a dental hygienist.
Tomorrow let the job hunt begin.
I am not quiting until I get a scheduled interview
(or I run out of copies)
Whichever comes first!
Wish me luck
:)

Growing

Today marks 2 very important historical moments. For starters my little monster decided to grow into a big doggie.
(Although she'll forever be my ::baby voice:: lee-wuh  pop-pee!)
We took a trip to the market to purchase her first diapers. She is such a good girl. She wore them like a champ! I'm so proud to call her my baby monster :)

Well enough chit chatting about the greatness of my pup. Today I received a very important call. This was the call that literally started my day. It was the call to let me know I can finally practice hygiene legally. Yaaaaay me! Now on to  my next mission: finding a job.

You know its only been about 2 months since I've been out of school and a whole lot of realization has been going on. Maybe that's not the word I'm looking for...
(I've never been great at choosing my words.)
::curse my hispanic roots::
any who I believe what I'm trying to say is real world scenarios have been passing me by. Having to make adult decisions and putting them into actions. Too much for typed words but I will mention this... Life hits you quickly without you ever knowing it did. So make the best out of it or you'll simply tag along.

Feasting

I thought it was going to be just another  birthday dinner celebration.
Some people you don't really know
share some awkward conversations,
have a couple of drinks
taste an expensive entree
and lastly divide the bill
and drive home thinking you paid more than you should.
Okay, maybe it was just how I described it.
BUT
what made it different was the simple fact that it was not just random people.
The guest were people I shared 2 years of my life studying hygiene with.
The entrees fed 3 people.
Everything was super sized including the spoons.
We sat in the Pope's table which included a giant Lazy Susan.
(side note: I've always wondered why they named it that.)
Ladies and gentlemen,
your favorite dental hygienists of 2010.

Recapping : i

I've notice that lately I've been slacking on the posts.
I have no reason because literally I have every minute of the day to myself.
I swear I need a hobby.
My life is currently in a slump.
I also realized that today marks one entire month after my birthday.
So I came up with the idea to recap this entire one month as a brand new 22 year old.
Besides the fact that I became a hygienist this month,
I was granted an 8-day access to paradise.
Miles away from home and some things still never change.
Like for instance, me leaving my mark on the floor due to a big fall,
or having to teach oral hygiene instructions.

While in Paradise, I did major self assessments.
I had a lot of time to myself to think about what I want to do in the future.
I also started reading Eat Pray Love
Which has been converted into a film and decided to read it before it premieres.
The author, Elizabeth Gilbert, is an amazing writer.
She has inspired me to continue on with my goals of travels.
I questioned why God gave the gift of beauty to the male peacocks.
I overcame the doubts and fears from my head and dove into temptation.

I realized you can find peace in just about anywhere you search for her.
I forgot about diets and losing weight
and gained a chocolate mustache.
I cannot state that these are all mine, but this goes to prove that I did eat like a barbarian
I proved to my mother, that there are moments when acting like an adult just won't work.
I kept up with a history making Soccer Tournament,
Give it up for Spain for taking the World Cup home for their very first time.
Speaking of Spain, I meet a relative from there and shared many interesting conversations.
I visited Mars and learned that He owns 2 moons and named them
Phobos and Deimos
I wonder why we didn't name our moon?
I was reintroduced to one of my favorite rappers of my generation.
"You must be a sorceress, cos you just did the impossible;
gained my trust, don't play games it'll be dangerous."
-Eminem
I keep realizing that in life it doesn't matter what you do or where you go,
what truly matters is who you're with when those other things happen.
<3
I broke out of routines and hung out with people I don't usually see.
Turns out, saying "yes" open the doors to unlocked fun that is just waiting to happen.
Witness new events that may become tradition in the future.
Had family bonding and became a life-saver.
Who knew that a $3 club soda can cure the aching pains of my grandfather's stomach?
It's been a hell of a great month.
Can't wait to see what the next 11 have in stores for me.

Confusing

Many times I catch myself drifting away from reality
and just getting deeper into my thoughts.
I can't help it!
My thoughts are better than reality.
Sometimes I'm not even fantasizing.
There are times I'm just asking many questions.
Questions I know might never get answered.
Questions I know I will never really ask.
Coward?
Maybe.
This talent of drifting scenarios with a simple train of thought
can be a double-edged-sword.
While there are many times my thoughts save me from boredom,
they also get me very over analytical.
Like why did I decided to finally wear my seatbelt the day we 'almost' crashed?
Or why those people I saw after I experienced a  near-death collison?
Why did we just finish watching the same movie.
(A movie I know I introduced to life.)
Why did we both think the door closed?
Did those lyrics have an inner meaning?
Do you really know when you know?
Just when I thought I had the courage to ask a real life question...
there is no one to ask it to.
Or at least not the one I knew had the answer.
So is it a gift or is it pure insanity?
